The spring awards season is in full swing and the Stetson women’s golf team has collected some well-deserved hardware.

Stetson juniors Giulia Vandenberg and Kristine Odaiyar were both named to the Atlantic Sun Conference Second Team All-Conference squad for the recently completed season.

Sophomore Carolin Schart, who excelled in both competition and the classroom, earned a spot on the A-Sun Women’s Golf All-Academic Team.

For Vandenberg, it was her second selection to the All-Conference team. She was a first team selection in 2015 after a fifth place finish at the A-Sun Championship. She finished the 2015-16 season with a team best 76.38 scoring average while earning one top five and three top 10 finishes in nine events.

Odaiyar, in her first full season at Stetson, finished with a 76.58 scoring average and earned one top five and two top 10 finishes.

Schart capped a strong second season at Stetson with a seventh place finish at the A-Sun Championship. Her 77.09 scoring average was good for third on the team. The sophomore carries a 3.95 GPA in Business Administration.

All six members of the 2015-16 Stetson team will return for the 2016-17 season. As in past years, the Hatters are slated to open the season in early September at the GolfWeek Invitational, played at Pawley’s Island, SC.
