The articulation agreement takes effect immediately.

In order to be admitted to the Stetson BBA degree program in accounting, a student must complete the Seminole State A.A. degree program, submit application materials to Stetson and meet all requirements for admission, including a grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher.

“This partnership is important because it provides a clear pathway for accounting students to transfer from a strong, two-year program to a full four-year degree and enter a profession where jobs are plentiful and graduates are in high demand,” said Valrie Chambers, Ph.D., associate professor of taxation and accounting, and chair of the M.E. Rinker, Sr. Institute for Tax and Accountancy.

Stetson’s accounting program is designed to provide students with a strong understanding of accounting, taxation, information systems and business and, ultimately, prepare students for a multitude of careers as an accounting, financial or management professional.

“All of us at Seminole State College are intently focused on preparing students for their productive futures and providing options for further academic study and career advancement,” said Stephen Summers, Ph.D., associate vice president in the School of Arts and Sciences. “We are thrilled to offer our students this new pathway to a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting with our excellent partners at Stetson University. Students will not only benefit from the streamlined process into their upper division program that this agreement provides but also will have the amazing opportunity to finish their studies at a great university like Stetson.”

Stetson University rewards academically talented students with merit scholarships in addition to grants, loans, student employment opportunities and more.
