• Stetson University Associate Professor of Environmental Science and Studies Jason Evans, Ph.D. was quoted June 29 in the Gainesville.com and the Daytona Beach News-Journal articles, “Climate Group: Fighting Sea Level Rise in Florida May Cost Billions.” Evans spoke about the costs associated with sea walls and other measures, which would protect Florida businesses and homes from the rising sea levels. Evans stated, “Over the next decade another five inches of sea level rise is pretty reasonable and on the low end of what we expect.”

• Jason Evans, Associate Professor of Environmental Science and Studies, has been named interim executive director of Stetson’s Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience, effective Aug. 15, according to The West Volusia Beacon on July 2.

• Former Hatter football star Donald Parham was highlighted in the Redskins.com article, “Seven Things We’ve Learned About Donald Parham,” on July 3. Parham is an undrafted tight end for the NFL team. “Donald expressed interest in playing in the NFL early on, and we laid out what he had to do in order for him to get there,” Stetson head coach Roger Hughes said. “He stayed at school, worked out, and made sacrifices to get in physical condition to play at that level.”
