• Stetson University President Wendy B. Libby, PhD, and Chief Financial Officer Bob Huth were quoted in The Daytona Beach News-Journal on June 19 in the story, “Stetson University students to see some financial relief amid coronavirus pandemic,” about one-time $1,500 credits for full-time, returning undergraduates. Libby said, “Even among the budget issues the university is wrestling with, we felt we had to do what we could to help students return to Stetson this fall and complete or continue their studies.”

• College of Law Dean Michèle Alexandre was quoted by Patch.com on June 19 in the story, “Exploring Juneteenth: Get The History, Relevance And More Resources.” Alexandre said, “It is crucial that we take a moment to pause, reflect, and educate ourselves about America’s racial history, the work left undone in that area, and about structural racism’s impact on all aspects of institutional work, if left unaddressed.”

• Chris Ferguson, PhD, psychology professor, was quoted in the University Business article, “Social media offers students a ‘lifeline’ in age of anxiety,” on June 24. He said, “We have done a good job of terrifying people about screen time. The evidence suggests that screen time in and of itself is not a good predictor of anything and that it’s not poisonous.”

• Bud Hanson, executive director of Professional and Corporate Education and professor of Practice, was quoted in University Business in the June 22 story, “Can colleges effectively launch online workforce development programs quickly?” about the recent launch of more than 20 prepackaged online workforce training courses.

• Stetson Athletics Director Jeff Altier was mentioned in the Mississippi Business Journal on June 19 in the story, “Robinson named FCS ADA president; first African-American to assume role.” The story notes that Altier will serve on the Executive Committee for the Division I Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA).
