Stetson University has moved up a notch to No. 4 on U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Colleges list of Best Regional Universities – South, released today. In addition, Stetson appears on four additional lists in the same category: Best for Veterans, No. 2; Best Undergraduate Teaching, No. 8 (tie); Best Value Schools, No. 15; and Most Innovative Universities, No. 16 (tie). There are 133 universities in this category and the overall ranking of No. 4 is a tie with Berry College in Georgia.

Stetson emphasizes active learning with a low undergraduate student-teacher ratio of 13:1. Sixty-two percent of classes have fewer than 20 students and only one percent of classes have 50 or more students. Fifty-six percent of first-year students finished in the top quarter of their high school graduating class.

Schools in the Regional Universities category are defined by U.S. News & World Report as offering a full range of undergraduate programs and some master’s programs but few doctoral programs. Stetson offers master’s degrees in business, education and counseling.

In February, U.S. News & World Report ranked Stetson University College of Law No. 1 for Trial Advocacy, and No. 3 for Legal Writing in the United States. Stetson has been ranked the top law school for Trial Advocacy 22 times in 26 years, and has consistently ranked among the top six legal writing programs since the inception of the Legal Writing rankings in 2005.
