• Television station WESH and MSN featured the late Christine Horner Biernacki, a Stetson biology and nutrition professor, and son Eric Biernacki in the Jan. 6 broadcast segment and online story “Orlando man will send mother’s remains to deep space aboard Vulcan rocket.” “She was in the hospital one day, I came in, and she said, ‘If I don’t make it, I want you to send my ashes to space,’” Eric Biernacki said. “Every time I look up into the sky, it’s going to have an even deeper meaning for me knowing that she’s up there.”

• Inside Higher Ed quoted Peter Lake, professor of Law and director of the Center for Excellence in Higher Education Law and Policy, in the Jan. 11 story “House Investigations of Harvard, Others Mark a ‘Watershed Moment.’”

“This moment is truly a watershed moment, as Congress has successfully asserted the power to oust senior leaders at any institution and force governance reform,” Lake said. “The success of this political maneuver may embolden Congress to continue down this path; state legislatures may follow. This feels like the beginning of something, not the end.”

Alumna Ashley Moody, Florida State Attorney General

• WTVT FOX 13 News quoted Law professor James Fox and featured alumna and Florida State Attorney General Ashley Moody in the Jan. 5 broadcast segment “Abortion Rights Lands a Spot on November Ballot.”

• Chicago radio station AM 560 The Answer cited, in a Jan. 4 broadcast, research by Christopher Ferguson, PhD, professor of Psychology, and Sven Smith, PhD, associate professor of Sociology, on perceptions of racism in the criminal justice system. WSB-AM radio also cited their research in a Jan. 5 broadcast.

American Experiment featured Ferguson and Smith and their research in the Jan. 5 story “Refuting the narrative of a ‘systemically racist’ criminal justice system.” Us Message Board reported on the research in the Jan. 5 post “No, minorities don’t receive harsher penalties for crime, but left wing academics still lied about it.” The Manhattan InstituteHot Air and other media also reported the story.

• WFTS ABC Action News quoted in a Dec. 20 broadcast segment about former Pres. Trump’s removal from Colorado’s primary. Non-commercial community radio station WMNF interviewed Law professor Ciara Torres-Spelliscy about current political and election matters in a Jan. 3 broadcast segment.
