• On Sept. 30, the Pinnacle Gazette published U.S. News Rankings Highlight College Success And Challenges. The coverage included Stetson’s “impressive finishes.” Numerous other publications also included Stetson as part of stories about the U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Rankings of colleges and universities. 

• On Sept. 27, Creative Loafing Tampa Bay reported about Stetson University College of Law hosting the Florida Springs Council’s Florida Springs Summit, scheduled for Oct. 19. The summit will include presentations from influential leaders, as well as legal discussions revolving around the springs conservation movement.

Christopher F. Roellke, PhD

• Stetson President Christopher F. Roellke, PhD, was among the “50 Most Powerful People Of 2024 In Orlando: Education,” published in Orlando Magazine on Oct. 1. The article pointed to Roellke’s goal of taking Stetson from “Florida gem to national treasure.”

• Among other publications, on Sept. 30 The West Volusia Beacon Online featured Stetson’s “beloved” Christmas Candlelight Concerts in the article Stetson University Celebrates the Holiday Season with Christmas Candlelight Concerts.

• In Haunting Location: Cassadaga, Florida, published by My New Orleans Guide, Oct. 1, Stetson was mentioned as part of a look at historic DeLand.

• The Oct. 1 article Boosted by Daytona, Jimmy Carter reached the White House. ‘I’ve tried not to fear defeat,’ published by the Daytona Beach News-Journal Online, included mentions and a photo of former President Jimmy Carter’s visit to the Stetson campus in October 1992. 

• On Sept. 30, as reported in the SRQ Magazine, the law firm of Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen, and Ginsburg, P.A., announced that Meghan O’Connell was inducted into the Young Lawyers Division of the Sarasota County Bar Association. O’Connell graduated from Stetson University College of Law, magna cum laude. While in law school, she served as a senior associate for Stetson Law Review, competed on the nationally ranked Trial Team and Dispute Resolution Board, and participated in the Stetson Law Honors Program.

Hand Art Center

• Stetson University Unveils Highest Valued Pieces of Prestigious Oscar Bluemner Collection, published by Morningstar and several other media outlets on Oct. 2, featured details about exhibit at the Homer and Dolly Hand Art Center. On view until Dec. 7, The Economics of Oscar Bluemner’s Art contains some of the most valuable piece in Stetson’s Vera Bluemner Kouba Collection.
