During the event, she was presented with an award by the University of Minnesota Law School in recognition of her "Outstanding Contributions to the Achievement of Social Justice and Human Rights."

Catherine Cameron, Lance Long, and Jason Palmer

Professor Camercon, Long, and Palmer presented this past weekend at the 2010 Rocky Mountain Legal Writing Conference on “Paradigm Shift: Effectively Transitioning Students Between Professors During the First-Year Writing Curriculum”. The presentation, which was very well received, focused on the ways each currently accomplishes transitioning our students, and they provided tips about how to effectuate student transitions between professors in R&W classes. They also discussed the advantages and disadvantages of students progressing through a two-semester program in which each semester is taught by a different professor.


Peter Fitzgerald

In connection with this upcoming sabbatical, Professor Fitzgerald has been named a Visiting Fellow at the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law at the University of Cambridge (http://www.lcil.cam.ac.uk/ ). This appointment will help facilitate his research into international issues in animal law during the coming academic year by providing access to the resources and expertise available at Cambridge, not only within the Faculty of Law, but also at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, which is known for its work in the area of animal welfare.

On March 5, Professor Minneit presented his paper, "Behavioral Economics of Environmental Marketing Claims" at Washburn University School of Law.


Roy Gardner

Professor Gardner has signed a contract with Island Press to write a book titled Lawyers, Swamps, and Money: U.S. Wetland Law, Policy, and Politics. This week, Professor Gardner hosted the International Wildlife Conference and the international rounds of the International Environmental Moot Court Competition.

Professor Nagle taught a national security seminar in Monterrey, Mexico, sponsored by the U.S. Army War College.


Michael Allen

Professor Allen has been invited to testify before the Veterans’ Affairs Committee of the United States House of Representatives in March for the “Claims Summit 2010: A Call for Solutions.” In addition, he has been invited to present at the judicial conference of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in May.
