Luz works with the ABA Committee on the Rule of law and Corruption. This Committee just finished a white paper for the ABA in which she had an active role. In addition, Luz will be participating in the International Rule of Law Symposium on Monday, April 16, 2007, in New York. The focus of the program is to discuss the white papers developed by the different committees. The papers outline what the ABA can do in areas of Economic Development, Human Trafficking, Corruption, Independent Judiciary, Corporate Responsibility and the Environment. This conference is by invitation only and advances the ABA's Plan of Action in advancing the rule of law at home and around the world.

Last week, Peter was a keynote speaker at "Healthy Campus Communities: Looking to the Future A College Alcohol, Other Drugs & Violence Prevention Conference" in Albany, New York.

Kristen Adams moderated a panel, and Candace Zierdt presented on a panel, at the ABA Business Law Section's Meeting last week in Washington, D.C.

Today Ellen is moderating a panel titled "The Challenge of Cooperation: Consideration of the Ethical and Managerial Implications of the Organizational Sentencing Guidelines, Thompson Memorandum, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, etc." at the Symposium on Corporate Criminality: Legal, Ethical, and Managerial Implications at Georgetown. She also spoke on a panel regarding possible reforms; her paper will be published with others in the American Criminal Law Review. Charlie has accepted an invitation to address the Tampa Bay Paralegal Association about the death penalty in Florida.

This weekend, Mark spoke before the joint conference of the National Council on Aging - American Society on Aging, in Chicago. His presentation addressed the need for consumer protection training to protect seniors; he also spoke about our Eleazer Courtroom.

In February, Rebecca completed the coursework for her Ph.D. in Educational Technology.

Charlie's most recent article, "Caging the Beast: Formulating Effective Federal Rules of Evidence to Deal with Sexual Predators" has been accepted for publication in the Unversity of Texas's American Journal of Criminal Law.
