Professor Robert Batey was quoted in the article, “Gaime signals appeal possibility,” by Molly Moorhead and Jamal Thalji, in today’s St. Petersburg Times about a woman who is challenging a voluntary plea deal. She originally pled guilty to second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder, killing one of her sons and trying to kill the other.

Tampa Tribune August 2006 Adjunct Professor Nick Cox

Injuries As Infant May Have Killed Girl

Dave Sommers of the Tampa Tribune interviewed Adjunct Professor Nick Cox today. Twenty years ago, a man was sentenced to prison for aggravated child abuse. The infant suffered severe brain damage. The child, now a young teen, has just died. The coroner has ruled his death resulted from those injuries. The prosecutor wants to try the parent on homicide charges.
