Stetson University has launched a new mobile application for cell phones, tablets and other portable devices – giving students, faculty, staff and the general public easy mobile access to DeLand campus events calendars and news, maps, personnel and departments, and duPont-Ball Library resources.

The new StetsonU app can be easily downloaded free of charge and works on most platforms including iPhone, Android and Blackberry. It is already available in the Apple app store and Android Market and will soon be available in the Blackberry marketplace.

The application was developed by Stetson University Web Services and the mobile app development company Boopsie, in conjunction with the duPont-Ball Library.

“This app is suited to all different devices and includes a broad range of features to make Stetson easily accessible at your fingertips,” said Stetson Webmaster Gary Sipe.

“StetsonU features include a campus directory, building locator, calendar of events, news, as well as useful links to our Office of Admission, library and social media outlets,” he said. “The library feature offers full functionality including the ability for students to access the library’s electronic databases and catalog.”
