John B joins Celebrity Mascot Games

John B. will participate in the Celebrity Mascot Games.

Stetson University will be one of two host sites for the 20th Annual Celebrity Mascot Games hosted by the Central Florida Sports Commission to benefit New Hope For Kids.

Stetson’s own mascot, John B, will join a talented group of mascots participating in this year’s event at both Stetson’s Edmunds Center and Orlando’s Amway Center from July 19-21.

Both professional team mascots (Stuff of the Orlando Magic, Captain Fear of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, etc.) and collegiate mascots (Albert and Alberta of Florida, Wildcat of Kentucky, etc.) will be among the 27 in competition.

The mascots will be split into four teams and compete in an array of fun and exciting games, including a pair of obstacle courses, jousting, and what is being coined “Hungry, Hungry Mascots.”

With the proceeds benefiting New Hope For Kids, the Celebrity Mascot Games will also be conducting a silent auction for the event on eBay beginning July 19.  All fans wanting to give to the cause are encouraged to visit the event’s website – www.mascotgames.org – for more information.

Thursday’s event at Stetson will begin at 12:30 p.m. with doors opening at 11:30 a.m.  On Friday and Saturday, the mascots will compete at the Amway Center at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.

Reserved seats are available for Saturday’s event at the Amway Center for $16.  General Admission tickets all three days are available for $10.  Tickets can be purchase online, by phone, or at the site on the day of the event.  Go to www.mascotgames.org for more information.
