• The West Volusia Beacon profiled Ukrainian student Veronika Shchur and interviewed Martin Blackwell, PhD, visiting professor of History, in the May 17 story, “Stetson fundraising to support Ukrainian students, faculty member.” “It’s great,” Shchur said. “Everyone was so welcoming and nice and helped us.” “Ukrainians are fighting to live with the same freedoms we have here,” Blackwell said. “They don’t want to live like Russians do under Putin.”
