Katya Kudryavtseva, PhD

• The Daytona Beach News-Journal featured Luca Molnar, MFA, assistant professor of Studio Art, and her Hand Art Center co-exhibition “The Beauty of Politics” with renowned modernist painter Oscar Bluemner, in the Feb. 1 story “Stetson University art exhibit displays labor strife from the past and the present.” The story also quoted Katya Kudryavtseva, PhD, assistant professor of Art History. “What interests me the most about history in general is the ways that we tend to learn about it and think about these sort of discrete things that happened long ago, but the patterns themselves repeat seemingly endlessly,” Molnar said.

The West Volusia Beacon featured Molnar in the Feb. 1 story “Stetson art exhibit explores ‘The Beauty of Politics.’ ” The story also quoted Kudryavtseva and Stetson junior art major Natalie Thomas. “Her works are incredibly complex and incredibly layered,” Kudryavtseva said of Molnar. “That is interesting to me as an art historian, that layered approach to painting. Her paintings do have a narrative, but this narrative is far from coherent and prepackaged.”

WFTV 9 interviewed Molnar for the Feb. 2 extended video segment “Stetson University debuts art exhibit, shows political themes still relevant a century later.” WFTV 9 also featured the exhibit in the online photo essay Photos: Stetson University debuts new art exhibit that shows economic struggles in the 20th century. Yahoo! News reposted the photo essay.

• Newsweek, the Miami Herald, Beastwatch News and DNyuz quoted Ciara Torres-Spelliscy, professor of Law, in the Feb. 3 story “What Donald Trump Fears More Than Jail, According to His Biographer.”

• Television stations Fox 13 Tampa Bay, Yahoo! News, Fox 35 Orlando, Fox 29 Philadelphia, Fox 10 Phoenix and others around the country featured an interview with Catherine Cameron, professor of Law, for the Feb. 6 broadcast segments and online stories “Taylor Swift wants Florida college student to stop tracking her jet – Does she have the legal ground?”  and “Taylor Swift Demands Florida Student Stop Tracking Her Jet.”

Fox 35 and Yahoo! News also quoted Cameron in the Feb. 7 follow-up story “UCF student tracking Taylor Swift’s private jet claps back after receiving cease and desist.” UK Snack Attack cited Cameron in the Feb. 8 story “UCF Student Tracking Taylor Swift’s Private Jet Responds to Cease and Desist.”

BNN Breaking cited Cameron in the Feb. 7 story “Taylor Swift’s Legal Battle Over Private Jet Tracking Ignites Debate on Privacy Laws.”

• Reuters interviewed Kristine Dye, PhD, assistant professor of Health Sciences and Biology, for the Feb. 5 story “Fact Check: No evidence for vaccine DNA risk raised by Florida Surgeon General.”

• Texas Public Radio quoted Stacey-Rae Simcox, professor of Law and director of the Veterans Law Institute and director of the Veterans Advocacy Clinic, in the Feb. 7 broadcast segment and online story “Veterans can lose their gun rights if they can’t manage their finances. Is it time for a rethink?”

• Public radio station WMFE interviewed Randall Croom, PhD, associate professor of Management, in the Feb. 6 broadcast and online story “Black Homeownership continues to lag in Florida, and that’s a big problem, says Stetson economist.” Public radio stations WUSF and WUWF also featured the story.
