Hatters Heading to NCAA Tournament after Historic Win over Austin Peay
The Men’s Basketball Team earned their first trip to the NCAA Tournament in Stetson history after a riveting win over Austin Peay for the ASUN Championship on Sunday afternoon in a jam-packed Edmunds Center.
Jalen Blackmon scored a career-high 43 points, including two free throws with four seconds left in the game to seal a 94-91 win for Stetson. The Edmunds Center erupted in celebration as the Hatter Men secured their spot in the NCAA Tournament. They will find out their opponent for the first-round matchup on Selection Sunday, March 17.
“These guys will go down in history here as the greatest team to ever play here. First to ever do it,” Head Coach Donnie Jones told The Daytona Beach News-Journal.
