Starting this Friday at the Hand Art Center, come by to see the artwork of DeLand campus Stetson students who were selected to be featured in the undergraduate art show.
The Exhibition
The exhibition is an annual show. With a strong history, 2017 marks the 28th year of the tradition. On display for a limited time, it will open on November 3rd and run through December 8th. Submissions from all undergraduate students were accepted, meaning the show is not limited to art-related majors. Students were able to send in a wide variety of art mediums as acceptable submissions: painting mixed media, drawing/illustration, photography, digital art/video art, and installation/3D work, sculpture. Students and visitors alike will not be disappointed at what the show has to offer.
The Awards
A reception will be held on Friday, November 3rd at which awards will be announced of the show’s best-judged art. Winners may receive a monetary award ranging between $50 to $500, some art pieces being selected for purchase to be part of the university’s permanent art collect. The artwork will be judged on composition, originality, overall success and effect, and the piece as a finished, display-ready product. The winners will be chosen by a judge outside of the of Stetson faculty.
