Medical marijuana is topic of event, debate at Stetson
Medical marijuana is the topic of two upcoming events: a continuing education program and a public debate at Stetson University College of Law in October.
- Oct. 10 in Tampa: A full-day educational event for health care professionals and lawyers about medical marijuana is scheduled for Oct. 10, 8:15 a.m.-4 p.m., at Stetson’s Tampa Law Center, 1700 N. Tampa St. To learn more, and to register, visit Stetson Law.
The event, “Charlotte’s Tangled Web-Considerations for How Doctors and Lawyers Might Avoid the Legal Entanglements of Medical Marijuana in Florida,” will explain what lawyers and health care practitioners need to know about the legalization of medical marijuana to better serve their clients and patients. The Center for Excellence in Elder Law at Stetson and University of South Florida College of Medicine are co-sponsoring this event.
- Oct. 23 in Gulfport: The Florida Right to Medical Marijuana Initiative, Amendment 2 on the November ballot, is the topic of debate between former Florida Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Bell and attorney John Morgan at a free noontime event, Oct. 23, 12-1 p.m., on Stetson’s Gulfport campus, 1401 61st St. S. Stetson Law’s debate will educate voters on both sides of the argument for and against medical marijuana.
