The Florida Bar Foundation announced the winners of the 2020 Florida Pro Bono Law School Challenge, and Stetson Law took top honors for most law school clinic engagement.

“This is great news,” said Christine E. Cerniglia, director of Clinical and Experiential Education at Stetson Law.

This is the second iteration of the Challenge, which launched with a pilot version in 2019. Using an online platform at FloridaLawSchoolChallenge.org to match students with alumni mentors, Florida’s law schools competed to see which could take the most pro bono cases. Students and lawyers from all of Florida’s 12 law schools participated this year, as did 47 Florida lawyers who graduated from out-of-state law schools.

Stetson Law is known, in part, for its experiential learning opportunities, including more than 300 clinic and externship opportunities annually. With approximately 28 clinic and externship courses at 60 hosting organizations, Stetson joins a handful of other law schools across the country who guarantee that every student can participate in a clinic or externship course during law school.
