Vis Moot team makes it to round of 64; Gangloff receives honorable mention
Stetson University College of Law’s Vis International Arbitration Moot team competed in the 28th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot March 27 – April 1, 2021, and made it to the top 64 out of nearly 400 teams from around the world.
Team member Audrey Gangloff received an Honorable Mention Oralist award.
The field of the multi-day competition is narrowed to 64 teams after four preliminary rounds. More than 380 teams participated in the oral arguments, and by the round of 32, only two teams from the United States remained. The competition was held virtually for the second time this year; it went online last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students were up and competing at all hours of the night and morning during the course of the competition.
The team was composed of Robert Cummings, Audrey Gangloff, Melany Hernandez, Joseph Kim, Brook Somerville, and Andrew Zacherl, with Professors Joseph Morrissey and Stephanie Vaughan and alumnus Matthew Ceriale as coaches.
