More than 800 guests enjoyed a day of fun and learning at Hatter Saturday, Stetson’s biggest event for accepted students.

On a beautiful spring morning, President Christopher F. Roellke, PhD, and others welcomed the crowd in the Edmunds Center. In total, 823 guests attended the event April 1, including 272 students accepted for either Summer or Fall 2023 semester.

The new Hatters and their families attended an Academic Showcase in the Rinker Field House where faculty and current students talked about the university’s academic programs and research opportunities available to students.

In Palm Court, Stetson’s many clubs, organizations and student services set up tables and displays, and their members spoke with incoming students about ways to get involved on campus. Breakout sessions were held across campus, covering topics from study abroad and career planning to multicultural student leadership and Army ROTC.

Lunch was served on the Stetson Green, along with tasty treats from downtown eateries, such as the Buttercup Bakery, and Pat & Toni’s Sweet Things.

“The event was an absolute success, with tons of energy and excitement from our faculty, staff, current students, and especially from the visiting students and families,” said Reneé Tutchton, director of Admissions Campus Visitation. “It was wonderful to hear the victory bell throughout campus all day long as students took part in our tradition of ringing in their commitment to Stetson!”
