Roger graduated from Trinity Prep School in New York City which is celebrating its 300th anniversary this year [2014]. He then graduated from Drew University with a degree in chemistry. Prior to obtaining this degree, Roger enrolled in medical school and intended to be an oral surgeon. Later he received his law degree from Stetson University, St. Petersburg, in 1967. His first position after receiving his law degree was with Wackenhut Corporation and he worked on Governor Claude Kirk’s War on Crime in Miami. Roger was a member of the Florida Bar Association. He was a retired Commander of the U.S. Coast Guard, having been in charge of Aids-To-Navigation for the West Coast of Florida and ruled on medical hearings. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve.
