I joined the Marine Corps Reserves in June of 1970, and was honorably discharged in May of 1976. I was never in Vietnam and, as a reservist, only served 6 months active duty so am not entitled to veterans’ benefits. (I went to weekend drills each month and to 2 weeks of training each summer for the other 5 1/2 years.)
