I understand from the Stetson ROTC Newsletter published by LTC (Ret) Oakland McCulloch that you are interested in Stetson ROTC graduates that served in Viet Nam. I was there from January 1966 to January 1967 and again from March 1970 to March 1971. Both tours were as an advisor in the Mekong Delta (IV Corps). I live in Phoenix, but still commute to the Jacksonville area frequently as my 92-year-old mother lives there. Understand that my experience was not with US combat units but rather with the advisory efforts to the Vietnamese at the district (RF/PF levels) and division level (9th ARVN) in 1966 and as operations advisor Kien Hoa Province in 1970. (Interestingly, it took our leaders in Iraq and Afghanistan several years to remember/revise these efforts).
