After graduating from Stetson University, Philip proudly served his country in the United States Army and performed medical lab work on base. After the Army, he went to work at Cape Canaveral doing QA work on the nitric acid feed lines and other duties, and eventually got a job working with radioactive isotopes in organic compounds. He is renowned in the field even after retirement for synthesis of radioactive organics under vacuum.
