I graduated from Stetson in June 1968 with a degree in Political Science. I served in ROTC for four years while at Stetson and entered active duty in the US Army as a 2LT in November 1968. My MOS was in Military Intelligence. I first went to Infantry Officer School at Ft Benning, GA and then to Intelligence School at Ft Holabird, MD before going to Vietnam. While in Vietnam, I served in the Military Assistance Command (MAVC) from May 1969 to May 1970 as an advisor in Chuong Thien Province, Kien Hung District which is in the Mekong Delta. After Vietnam, I was assigned to the G-2 section at the 18th Airborne Corps headquarters at Ft Bragg, NC until I left the service in November 1971 as a CPT.
