After completing ROTC and graduation from Stetson in 1959, I entered the Army as an artillery officer. During a 30 year Army career, I served in command and staff assignments throughout the United States, Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. My service was in both field artillery and air defense missile units. My military education included the artillery basics & advanced officer courses, The Army Command & General Staff College, and The Army War College. During my year at the Army War College, I received a masters degree in public administration. My career included a number of years with the Army staff in the Pentagon in agencies dealing with the operations, training, and force development; I served as Chief of Investigations for the Army Inspector General. My final assignments were with the Office of the Army Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Army.
