Summer Travel Course Opportunity
If you are interested in modern and historic civil rights movements and case law, we invite you to register for Stetson Law’s civil rights travel course this summer, noting that registered Stetson Law students will also be considered for one or more generous travel scholarships. The “Law and the Civil Rights Movement” course (5 credits) is available now for registration through MyStetson. This is a two-week summer course, with the first week (June 13-17) consisting of engaging classroom conversations followed by a second week (June 21-27) of travel to key sites throughout the Civil Rights Trail in Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia.
The course will provide students with a survey of landmark cases, historical developments, and grassroots advocacy during the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. We will also contextualize these events with several contemporary movements and case law along with insights from attorneys and others at the forefront of these movements.
Please email Carmen Johnson at [email protected] with any questions or for more information about scholarship opportunities for this course.
