AALS Pro Bono Honor Roll
The Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Pro Bono and Access to Justice Section has announced its inaugural Pro Bono Honor Roll to acknowledge and highlight a student, staff member, and faculty member from each law school for their exceptional work engaging in, expanding, and/or supporting their law school community in providing pro bono legal services. For this award, pro bono means work that is primarily legal in nature, supervised by a licensed attorney (for law students), not for pay or academic credit, and of service to underserved individuals, groups, or those with barriers to access to justice.
Recipients will receive an electronic certificate, and their names will be publicized through the AALS electronic newsletter, website, at the annual conference, and in other appropriate ways.
We’re accepting nominations for all categories and here’s how you nominate yourself or someone else:
- Send an email to the Office of the Dean at [email protected] by 5:00p.m. EST, Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
- Include this subject line: AALS Pro Bono Honor Roll Nomination.
- In the body of the email, include the following information:
a. Person making nomination: Your name.
b. Person being nominated: Their name.
c. Nomination category: Indicate student, staff, or faculty member.
d. Reason for nomination: 100 works on less on why your nominee deserves to be recognized.
You may nominate more than one person in a category; just include the information in 3.a.-d. for each person.
You may submit a nomination for each category as well. Again, just include the information in 3.a.-d. for each.
Stetson will then review all nominations and choose its official nominee in each category to submit to the AALS for this year’s Honor Roll. There are so many deserving individuals who give tirelessly to their community so this is a wonderful way to recognize their commitment and service! Please nominate someone today!
