Congratulations, Dispute Resolution Board
This weekend, the Dispute Resolution Board competed in two competitions for the first time – the first-ever Hall of Fame Negotiation Competition co-hosted by Cumberland School of Law and Syracuse School of Law, and Southwestern Law School’s Second Annual Negotiation Tournament.
Team Captain Taylor Zuberer and Alyssa Adamo, representing Stetson’s DR Board for the first time, competed in the Hall of Fame Negotiation Competition and were coached by Professor Sheehan and DR alumna Sy-Woei Hao. Competing against a field of teams from around the country, Taylor and Alyssa advanced three times, competing as quarterfinalists, semifinalists, and finalists. Coming in second place in one’s first-ever national negotiation competition is quite an accomplishment; congratulations, Taylor and Alyssa! Notably, Taylor is also a member of Trial Team, and Alyssa is also a member of Moot Court!
Team Captain Kelley Truong, along with teammates Anna Mease, Delano Martins, Evan Gilliam, Sierra Demartino, and Tom Corey, represented Stetson’s DR Board in the Southwestern Negotiation Tournament. They were coached by Professor Sheehan, together with DR alumnae Kaile Bennett Williams and Kylie Weaver. Sierra and Tom came into the competition as experienced negotiators; Kelley and Anna had competed previously in Client Counseling; and Delano and Evan were representing Stetson’s DR Board for the first time. After two preliminary rounds in a field of 24 teams from around the country, only 8 were chosen as finalists to compete in person in Los Angeles the weekend of February 18. Stetson was the only school with two teams to advance to the in-person rounds. Congratulations, team – and Anna, Delano, Sierra, and Tom, best wishes in Los Angeles!
