1L Florida Bar Application Deadline Quickly Approaching
First-year law students are strongly encouraged to complete the 1L Registrant bar application during their first year of law school. In addition to the early start of the investigative process, student registrants are afforded significant savings on the application fees. The fee for a 1L registrant, if postmarked or received by the deadline, is $100.
As a reminder, Stetson will pay the $100 1L registrant fee for you.
After you complete and submit your application online in the Florida Board of Bar Examiners (FBBE) applicant portal, you have three options.
- Option #1 – Self-Pay Electronically to the FBBE: The FBBE accepts electronic payment of fees by ACH or eChecks. With this option everything is submitted online, the application and fee. Show proof of payment and that you completed your application by January 16, 2024 to the Business Office, and Stetson will reimburse you the $100 fee.
- Option #2 – Self-Pay Mail to the FBBE: If you are not paying your $100 application fee electronically, you must generate and print the Cover Sheet, and mail the cover sheet to the FBBE along with your check or money order. Your packet (which includes the mailed check/money order and coversheet) must be postmarked by the January 16, 2024, deadline. Show proof of payment and that you completed your application by January 16, 2024 to the Business Office, and Stetson will reimburse you the $100 fee.
- Option #3 – Stetson Pays the $100 Directly to the FBBE: Submit your Cover Sheet (and supplemental documents if needed) to the Business Office by 5:00 PM on January 10, 2024. The $100 payment on your behalf and your coversheet will be sent directly to the FBBE in January before the FBBE submission deadline. The Business Office is in the Tower Building, room F102. The telephone number is 727-562-7805.
