Volunteer Opportunity: 2024 National Trial Competition
Students,
Stetson is hosting Region VI of the 49th Annual TYLA National Trial Competition on February 2-4, 2024. This is one of the largest mock trial competitions in the country. 26 teams from 14 different law schools will be coming to Stetson’s Gulfport campus to compete in this regional competition, with the top two teams advancing to the national competition in April. Like always, we need volunteers to help make this event happen!

Regarding non-legal pro bono hours:
– If you are an Advocacy Concentration student, volunteering will count toward your required 10 hours of pro bono service on behalf of the Center for Excellence in Advocacy.
– If you are interested in receiving non-legal pro bono hours for volunteering that count toward your graduation requirement, here is Stetson’s pro bono policy: https://stetsonuniversity.navexone.com/content/dotNet/documents/?docid=631&public=true
Please review it carefully and please note: if you have already received 10 hours (or more) of non-legal pro bono credit for volunteering at events like this on campus, you cannot receive any more hours for helping with this event. However, volunteer service, particularly bailiffing at a trial competition, doesn’t hurt to put on a resume, and your assistance would be greatly appreciated! 😊
As always, thanks for your time and effort! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
Best,
Kate
