Summer 2024 Internship at the Second District Court of Appeal

Job Description

The Second District Court of Appeal invites applications for a Summer 2024 internship position working with a judge in chambers at the courthouse in Tampa (located at the Stetson Tampa Law Center).

Of note, some judges may be offering remote placements as well.  When emailing your application materials, please indicate whether you are seeking an in-person or remote placement.

This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in gaining an understanding of appellate practice and the inner workings of the court, as well as improving legal research and writing skills.

Interns will review appellate briefs and records, watch oral arguments, conduct legal research, submit written analyses, discuss legal issues with judges and staff attorneys, and attend regularly scheduled meetings.

Although this internship is unpaid, we are happy to work with students seeking course credit or pro bono hours.

Please note this is a general application process.  The number of judges able to take on interns varies each semester, but all judges will have the opportunity to review all applications.  All interested students are encouraged to apply.
