Disaster Resilience Symposium
March 18 - March 19
Equal Justice Works’ 2025 Disaster Resilience Symposium is cohosted by the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Disaster Response and Preparedness and the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Disaster Legal Services and accommodated by Stetson University College of Law.
The 2025 Disaster Resilience Symposium invites you to join us for a forward-looking exploration of resilience in the face of disasters. This symposium, held in Gulfport, Florida, offers a unique opportunity to reflect on the lessons learned from past disasters, including the pivotal 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Through dynamic keynote presentations, interactive workshops, and collaborative discussions, participants will delve into the latest trends and best practices in disaster response, preparedness, and recovery. The event will bring together legal, academic, and community voices instrumental in disaster law and the resilience movement. Our goal is to redefine resilience by centering equity, justice, and community empowerment in our collective efforts to build more resilient societies. Together, we will chart a path forward towards a future where all communities are equipped to withstand and thrive in the face of adversity.
Registration to attend the Symposium is $75 for attendees. This event will offer numerous opportunities for networking, community building, as well as workshops. CLE credit will be available, and recordings of the substantive sessions will be made available after the program. Currently enrolled law students may register to attend at no cost. If you are a Stetson Law student interested in attending this event, please directly email Kaylie Murphy at [email protected].
