Congratulations to the Regent Moot Court Team!
We did it again—Stetson has won the Leroy Hassell Sr. National Constitutional Law Competition (hosted at Regent University School of Law)!
More importantly, it is the second time in an eight-year period that we have won the competition in back-to-back years. (We have won the competition five times in that period.)
And this time, we won the competition and we won the best petitioner’s brief award in back-to-back years!
Please join me in congratulating Corinne Messina, Kaitlyn Stroud, and Robert Willis! The team worked through difficult issues involving the state-created danger doctrine and the Supreme Court’s case of DeShaney v. Winnebago County Department of Social Services and police power in regard to public safety and the Takings Clause. The team’s success is due to so many—thank you, Stetson, for all your support!
Congratulations, again, Corinne, Kaitlyn, and Robert! The spring semester is off to a great start. Look for more news about Moot Court teams in the future.
