Jeff Murphy Law Scholarship – $1,000 – Deadline: April 15, 2026

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a current 1L, 2L, or 3L law student enrolled at an accredited U.S. law school
  • Be in good academic standing at the time of application
  • Submit an original essay responding to the assigned scholarship prompt
  • Provide proof of current enrollment, such as a student ID or enrollment verification

There is no application fee to apply for this scholarship.

Essay Requirement

Applicants must submit an original essay of approximately 1,000 words responding to the scholarship prompt. The official essay topic will be announced when the application period opens on February 1 and will follow prior themes focused on victims’ rights, advocacy, and the role attorneys play in protecting vulnerable individuals.

Essays must be the applicant’s own work and may not be generated, copied, or repurposed from other submissions or publications.

Required Application Materials

To be considered, applicants must submit the following materials together:

  • Completed original essay (approximately 1,000 words)
  • Current resume
  • Proof of enrollment at an accredited law school

Incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

2026 Application Timeline

  • Application Opens: February 1, 2026
  • Application Deadline: April 15, 2026
  • Winner Selected: May 2026
  • Winner Announced: May 2026
  • Scholarship Award Distributed: May 2026
