The Story of Operation Pineapple Express

Next week, there will be three showings of Eleven Days: The Story of Operation Pineapple Express, which chronicles the journey of a handful of veterans who worked together to help several hundred Afghan allies escape the Taliban during the chaotic U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. This one-man play, written and performed by retired Green Beret Lt. Col. Scott Mann, carries extra weight as we roll into August 2026 — the fifth anniversary of the withdrawal and the end of the 20-year war — followed almost immediately by September 11, the 25th anniversary of the attacks that started it. Both anniversaries are hitting our Global War on Terror military community in profound ways. This play helps that community feel seen and validated, while educating civilians at a grassroots level about the true cost of modern war and the importance of honoring our promises to our veterans and allies.
