AAPJ Student Patent Law Writing Competition – $1,000 – Deadline: June 26, 2026
The American Association of Patent Judges (AAPJ) (see www.AAPJ.us) invites entries for the 2026 Hon. Frederick E. McKelvey Writing Competition. Candidates shall submit essays concerning any subject relating to U.S. patent law.
The McKelvey Competition is open to any student pursuing study in law, policy, management, or any related field, that impacts technology. In order to be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in a graduate degree program for at least one term during the 2025-26 academic year.
Candidates shall submit essays for consideration on or before Monday, June 30, 2026, by email to [email protected] (include “McKelvey Writing Competition” in the subject line). Essays should be .pdf files and comply with the formal requirements of submissions to the Journal of the Patent and Trademark Office Society (https://www.jptos.org/submissions.html). Submissions must include the candidate’s name, address, telephone number, academic institution, and expected graduation date and degree.
