Administrative Assistant needed for SJA

Prof. Adams and Prof. Scully are seeking a research assistant to provide support to us in our Social Justice Advocacy endeavors.  The research assistant will work 5-10 hours/week. Strong administrative skills and oral and written communication skills are imperative.  The ability to work independently and follow through on assigned tasks is required.  Do not apply if your plate is already overflowing.  We really need someone who will be able to assist us on a consistent basis.

Responsibilities will include the following –

  1. Updating the Social Justice Advocacy Resource Manual prior to the start of the fall semester.
  2. Assisting Prof. Adams and Prof. Scully on launching the Law, Social Justice  and Art Journal  (we are soliciting suggestions for names of this journal, so please feel free to share your thoughts on this)
  3. Assisting SJA in launching our project related to publishing SJA Directed Research Projects and Independent Research Papers on the Stetson Library Website.
  4. Assisting SJA in event planning — including publicizing events and assisting in hosting events.  This may include running errands and handling a wide variety of logistics.
  5. Assisting Prof. Scully in activities and research related to the St. Pete Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation (TRHT) Center and/or activities related to the Florida Law Schools’ Consortium on Racial Justice.
  6. Providing research assistance on issues related to the SJA work that both Prof. Scully and Prof. Adams are engaged in.  This may include issues related to mass incarceration, homelessness, access to justice,  trauma informed care, civil rights, and racial justice .
