Congratulations, Dispute Resolution Board!
This weekend, we had three teams competing in the National Sports Law Negotiation Competition at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. By way of background, this competition has an extraordinarily difficult cut from preliminary rounds to finals – this year, it went from 40 teams directly down to 4 – and, for the first time in the three years we have competed there, we advanced to the final 4! (We have been #5 the last two years.) After all was said and done, the team of Joshua Brensel and Rachel Esposito finished third! Here is the team with their beautiful trophy (L-R Team Captain Grace Moseley, Mary Roseth, Coach Sy-Woei Hao, Joshua Brensel, Rachel Esposito, Barbara Gil, Team Captain Andrea Gwin, Coach Jahanna Azarian. Coaches Sy-Woei Hao and Jahanna Azarian are both Stetson DR alumnae. Joshua was representing Stetson for the first time, while Rachel is an experienced advocate with quite a record of success, having been both a regional finalist and a national finalist (second place in the entire country) in Client Counseling last spring. Congratulations and well done!
