Kitchel Injury Law is proud to announce the Defending Voices Without a Voice Scholarship, created to support students who aspire to become immigration lawyers and advocate for immigrant communities in the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia region.
The firm believes strongly in making a meaningful impact in the communities it serves and recognizes the growing need for compassionate legal advocates dedicated to immigration law. Through this scholarship, Kitchel Injury Law hopes to help future attorneys pursue careers that defend and uplift vulnerable populations..
Scholarship Awards
- $5,000 – One law student pursuing a law degree with plans to practice immigration law
- $2,500 – One undergraduate student planning to attend law school and pursue immigration law
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be undergraduate students planning to attend law school or current law students
- Attend an accredited U.S. college, university, or law school
- Demonstrate an intention to pursue immigration law
- Have a connection to the Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, or DMV region
Essay Requirement
Applicants must submit an original essay (1,000 words or fewer) addressing:
- Why they want to become an immigration lawyer
- What motivates them to study immigration law and advocate for immigrant communities
