Earn Legal Pro Bono Hours 10/16 – 10/23

In anticipation of National Pro Bono Week, Bay Area Legal Services (BALS) and Stetson Law are coming together October 16-23 to help increase access to justice in our community.

BALS is seeking law student volunteers to participate in community outreach at the George Edgecomb Courthouse in downtown Tampa (800 E Twiggs St, Tampa, FL 33602). As a student volunteer, you would staff the BALS table at the courthouse, engage with the community, hand out applications for BALS services, check applications for completion, and screen potential BALS clients for income eligibility.

Outreach times will take place from 8am-5pm from October 16-23. You can volunteer for as many dates as you would like and for however long, provided that you can staff the table for at least two hours on any given date.

Outreach is a necessary first step to closing the justice gap. By lending just two hours of your time or more to help connect underserved populations with critical legal services, you can make a positive impact on the community.
