Earn Legal Pro Bono Hours – 10/26, 10/27
To celebrate National Pro Bono Week, Bay Area Legal Services (BALS) will be hosting a series of clinics throughout the week of October 22. BALS is currently seeking 10-15 law student volunteers for each of the clinics listed below. As a law student, volunteering at a legal clinic is a unique opportunity for you to gain practical experience, engage with real-world issues, collaborate with attorneys, and make a positive impact on the community.

Advance Directives Clinic
Thursday, Oct. 26, 5:30-7:00 p.m. – George Edgecomb Courthouse (800 E. Twiggs St., Tampa, FL 33602)
Student volunteers needed to help attorneys complete basic advance directive documents and answer questions about estate planning. Law student volunteers will also have the opportunity to serve as witnesses to documents. No prior experience necessary. Public notaries encouraged to sign up for this event!
Family Law Advice Clinic
Friday, Oct. 27, 1:00-4:00 p.m. – George Edgecomb Courthouse (800 E. Twiggs St., Tampa, FL 33602)
Student volunteers will be paired with attorneys to assist with brief advice sessions on family law matters. Student volunteers will be asked to take thorough notes that include the statement of facts and legal advice provided by attorneys. No prior experience necessary. Spanish-speakers encouraged to sign up for this event!
