Establishment of the Future of AI at Stetson University Task Force
Dear Members of the Stetson Community: Stetson University recognizes the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) across academia, industry, and society. To proactively address both the opportunities and challenges associated with this rapidly evolving technology, the University has established the Future of AI at Stetson University Task Force. The Task Force brings together faculty, staff, and student representatives from diverse disciplines to evaluate how AI can be integrated responsibly into teaching, research, and campus life. The Task Force is charged with developing recommendations to guide Stetson University’s responsible, secure, and mission-aligned adoption of AI in teaching, learning, research, administration, and campus operations. In support of this charge, the Task Force will (1) assess current AI use and institutional readiness; (2) identify strategic opportunities, constraints, and risks; and (3) propose governance, policy, training, and investment priorities that position Stetson for leadership in AI education and ethical, secure practice. The Task Force will share periodic updates with the Stetson community throughout its work and will also invite input at key milestones. Additional details will be communicated as they become available. The membership of this committee includes:
