SLDC is hosting their Spring 2023 retreat.

Students will be engaging in various activities to provide them with the skills to survive law school and the practice of law, while honing their leadership skills.  Keynote speaker David Herrera will discuss his personal journey through law school and how the skills he gained have led him into the practice of law today.  The Retreat will be held from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 25th.  Students who attend will receive 5 leadership credits.

Mr. Herrera is a native of Miami, Florida. Prior to attending Law School, he worked in a variety of roles in Retail Banking at multiple international financial institutions. He began his career as an attorney representing Plaintiffs in Homeowner’s Insurance Claims at a volume litigation firm in Miami, Florida. Eventually, he moved on to a boutique law firm in Tampa, Florida, where he found himself practicing primarily in the Bankruptcy Court of The Middle District of Florida. Mr. Herrera has represented clients in many different practice areas, including: Insurance Litigation, Consumer Bankruptcy, Divorce/Child Custody, Domestic Violence and Estate Planning. He joined Lloyd & McDaniel, PLC in 2021 and currently focuses his practice on retail collections.
