Immigration Law Student Association (ILSA) in conjunction with Hispanic Bar Association (HBA) will be hosting a TPS Talk speaker event. TPS stands for Temporary Protected Status and is one of many mechanisms in the U.S. immigration system. TPS is limited to only certain countries that the Untied States government has designated and is accepting qualifying refugees from. For example, the current TPS eligible countries list includes such places as Venezuela, Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.

Our speaker is a current practicing immigration attorney in the Tampa Bay area. She will explain the current TPS process, procedures, and provide insight into the overall scheme.

This is a luncheon event and will be catered by a place with food inspired by one of the listed TPS countries.

Spoiler alert: Since we had to re-scheduled the arepazo event due to Hurricane Ian it will probably be a Venezuelan restaurant called Perdigon El Sabor which has the best Venezuelan arepas, cachapas, tequenos, etc. in the area. You will NOT want to miss this, so make sure to RSVP on Engage! 🙂
