Pool
We continuously work to hire student lifeguards. If you are interested in being a student lifeguard, please contact Alicia Norton [email protected]. If you are already certified, we can move forward with the hiring process. If you need recertification or certification to become a lifeguard, Stetson will pay for your recertification or certification if you commit to working two semesters during your time at Stetson.
We are currently exploring other options to secure lifeguards.
Per our liability insurance policy, a lifeguard needs to be on duty when the pool gates are unlocked.
Courts and Athletic Field
Public Safety will open the courts and filed at 8:00am and close them at 10:00pm.
Capacity:
Basketball Courts – 10 participants
Tennis Courts – 4 participants
Recreation Field – 20 participants or individuals in total
* No spectators are permitted; only participants can be on the field and courts.
Guidelines for Using the Field and Courts:
- The recreation field, basketball court, and tennis court are only available for use by Stetson students, faculty, and staff with valid Stetson ID cards.
- There is no need to register to use the facility. We are returning to the honor system of using the courts on a first-come basis. Please be courteous to others using the field and courts.
- Participants must bring their own equipment and are responsible for cleaning all personal equipment used during use of the field and courts.
- Spectators are not permitted. Only participants of the activity are allowed to be on the field or courts.
- Multiple activities are permitted on the recreation field as long as the total capacity of the field does not exceed 20 individuals. This allows for separate groups to enjoy the field. Example: One group may play frisbee, one may throw a ball, and another may just sit on the grass.
- No bench or players waiting on the sidelines are permitted that would exceed capacity of the facility.
- Participants must complete their screening on the Everbridge app. Users of the facilities may be asked to provide their completed screening notice by any Stetson College of Law official.
- Public Safety will ensure protocols are being followed and address any issues that may arise such as exceeding space capacity or dispersing spectators. Reports of individuals not following the guidelines will be referred to Student Affairs.
