HELP NEEDED – Legal Pro Bono Opportunity!

A group of public defenders in Tampa are defending a death penalty case and they are hosting a jury selection workshop in Tampa this weekend (October 14th and 15th) in order to practice their jury selection skills. They are in need of 64 jurors – 32 people per day – and are still looking for volunteers. They need folks willing to serve from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Westin Tampa Bay (by the airport), on either Saturday or Sunday.

They are seeking people with varying opinions on the death penalty, but folks who could not even consider imposing the death penalty under any circumstance, no matter how egregious, while a totally valid and respected viewpoint, are not eligible to serve. People can only serve one of the two days. Because of the commitment this requires, they are offering $25 and a free lunch, and you will also receive 7 hours of legal pro bono credit toward your graduation requirement for your time.
