HAWL Scholarship
The mission of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers (HAWL) is to promote gender equality in the legal profession and under the law. HAWL annually awards five $500.00 scholarships. The following are the eligibility requirements for the HAWL Scholarship:
• Applicant must be female.
• Applicant must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher.
• Applicant must be enrolled or plan to enroll in a 2 or 4-year college or university or an accredited law school for the 2022-2023 academic year.
• Applicant must plan to pursue a degree in Law or Criminal Justice.
• Applicant must be a resident of or attend school in the Tampa Bay area.
• Personal statement must indicate a commitment to equality under the law and the promotion of women’s issues in the law.
• Applicant must complete application in its entirety, inclusive of requested documentation.

The application deadline for the HAWL Scholarship is Monday, April 11, 2022. To apply for the HAWL Scholarship, please complete the above application. Please print or type. Please also attach to this application the following:
• a personal statement (not to exceed 250 words) addressing: (1) the most significant experiences in your background that have shaped and demonstrated your commitment to equality under the law and the promotion of women’s issues in the law; and/or (2) how you intend to serve the interests of equality under the law and the promotion of women’s issues in the law. Please note that your personal statement carries great weight in the evaluation of your application.
• a copy of your most recent transcript;
• up to two (2) letters of recommendation (optional, but encouraged);
• a copy of your most recent application for financial aid (optional).
