What is the Florida Justice Association’s (“FJA”) Internship Program?

  • The program is looking to aid the next generation of future lawyers by assisting them with placement in firms advocating on behalf of injured individuals/consumers and their families.
  • The program provides a diverse range of law students interested in advocating on behalf of injured individuals/consumers and their families the opportunity to gain practical experience in the legal field.
  • The program exposes students to the FJA legal community.

Frequently Asked Questions?

  • Program Length: May 23, 2022 through July 29, 2022. Firms are encouraged to place an intern for a minimum of at least 6 weeks. All work schedules are to be determined independently with the employer.
  • Work Schedules: 20 to 40 hours per week. All work schedules are to be determined independently with the employer.
  • Pay Rates: Firms will pay a minimum of $15.00 per hour. Each participating firm will determine its own pay rate.
  • Location: Each participating firm will determine whether the intern must work on site or remotely.
  • Internship Program Events: Allow the intern to attend scheduled events hosted by the FJA where he or she will get to know other interns participating in the program.

Please attach a current resume and legal writing sample, 15 pages or less, and a brief statement, 400 words or less, explaining why you are interested in a career advocating for justice on behalf of injured individuals/consumers and their families; please also explain what diversity you bring as an applicant to the Program.
