Look out! Protect yourself and Stetson over the summer!

We are noticing increased scams that solicit students, faculty, and staff to provide information to avoid account deletion. You may receive an email asking you to complete a questionnaire with account or authentication details. This may also come in the form of a text message. These communications will claim to be Stetson Information Technology.

Please remember that Information Technology will never

  • Ask for your password or an MFA challenge code. Never give those out via email or text message.
  • Ask to fill out a form to avoid account deletion.
  • Send text or Teams messages about account deletion or soliciting you for information.

Scams like this will make the situation seem urgent to try and get you to act quickly and trick you into providing information.

Remember to use unique passwords for all your accounts and use the strongest password.

If you encounter anything like this, report it to us with the Phish Alert button or screenshot and send it to [email protected].
